Timeline: On April 29, 2026, an attacker compromised the Commons bridge connected to Syndicate on Base through a privileged upgrade flaw. The attacker acquired approximately 18.5 million SYND tokens, sold them for approximately $330,000, converted the proceeds to ETH on Aerodrome DEX, and bridged the funds to Ethereum. SYND price dropped 36% following the exploit. The Syndicate team paused the bridge, advised users to halt liquidity provisioning, engaged security firms, and stated they hold reserves to compensate affected users.
