Chronology

1 beat
  1. On approximately September 23, 2026 (22:33 EDT), the personal X account of Nano Labs founder Jack Kong (Kong Jianping) was compromised via a phishing email; Kong's personal AI assistant misidentified the phishing link as the official X verification page, leading him to enter his 2FA code on the fraudulent site. The attacker briefly used the account to promote a fake token called "Binance World Assets" ($BWA), claiming it would trade bStocks and share profits with holders. Nano Labs issued an official disavowal on September 24, 2026 at 03:37 UTC, confirming the account was compromised and that neither Kong nor the company had issued or endorsed any related token. Kong regained control of the account on September 28, 2026. No financial loss amount, victim count, or $BWA contract address has ever been publicly documented.
